About Me

My name is Rachel Korchinsky (she/her/hers), and I am a PhD Candidate in Chemistry, supervised by Dr. Philip G. Jessop and Dr. Michael F. Cunningham. I first joined Q-ACS in 2024 as the Chapter’s Social Media Director, then served as the Events Director, and now I am serving as the Vice President. In this role, I am eager to engage, coordinate impactful events that foster connection and collaboration within our community, and support the President in leading the Chapter, stepping in as needed to ensure continuity and effective management. Originally from Toronto, I’ve come to truly appreciate Kingston. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the Market Square in the warmer months, trying out new restaurants, taking peaceful walks by the lake, practicing archery, or unwinding with art, such as painting.

Beyond my role within Q-ACS, I am passionate about creating and participating in public outreach initiatives that promote sustainability, inclusivity, and education. As a volunteer, I developed educational content, delivered school presentations, and created hands-on learning activities. For this initiative, I was selected as an ACS Sustainability Star Awardee (2024) and have recently been employed by CEC-REN as the Youth Outreach and Education Coordinator. I also serve as a My Green Lab Ambassador!

I look forward to what our team will achieve this year!
