Q-ACS Call for New Members

The Queen’s University International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (Q-ACS) is seeking to recruit interested individuals in the chemical community. This opportunity will not only enhance your professional portfolio but also provide you with exclusive access to a multitude of resources and networking opportunities offered by the American Chemical Society (ACS). At Q-ACS, we are dedicated to advancing the interests of the chemical community at Queen's University, and our activities encompass a wide range of initiatives, including awards, recognition programs, and workshops. The available positions with brief descriptions include:

Associate Member (Non-Executive position)

Attend Q-ACS meetings in a non-voting capacity

Gain an understanding of Q-ACS logistics, with an opportunity for shadowing Executive Members, such that an eventual transition to an Executive position is optimized

Graduate Affiliate

Represent and support the interest(s)/need(s) of graduate students in the chemical community

Postdoctoral Affiliate

Represent and support the interest(s)/need(s) of postdoctoral scholars in the chemical community

Professional Development Director

Direct/facilitate/organize the Professional-Technical (Pro-Tech) Development Workshop Series and create new Pro-Tech Development initiatives

Log/track/update relevant award/fellowship/grant/scholarship/pro-D opportunities

Public Outreach Director

Promote all Q-ACS events and seek sponsorship(s)

Social Media Director

Maintain/update all Q-ACS social media, including the website blog

Undergraduate Affiliate

Represent and support the interest(s)/need(s) of undergraduate students in the chemical community
