Q-ACS is participating in the 2026 ACS Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholars Recognition Program. We are seeking nominations to recognize talented graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the chemical sciences who actively demonstrate leadership in five award categories.

About the event

The Queen's University International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (Q-ACS) is participating in the 2026 ACS Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholars Recognition Program. We are seeking nominations to recognize talented graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the chemical sciences who actively demonstrate leadership in five separate award categories:  

 

  1. Leadership in Mentoring 

  2. Leadership in the Promotion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEIR) 

  3. Leadership in the Promotion of Research Safety 

  4. Leadership in Science Outreach and Engagement  

  5. Leadership in Science Advocacy

The deadline to complete and submit the nomination form is Friday, May 8th, at 11:59 PM EDT. All nominations are confidential. Individuals may be nominated for multiple categories, but the nominated individual may win only ONE award. One graduate student AND postdoctoral scholar may be recognized per award category. The nominee must be a current graduate student or postdoctoral scholar at the time of the submission. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars cannot self-nominate for an award. Undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and staff may submit nominations. Note: Only ONE nomination will be accepted per individual, per category. 

 

The nomination form is to be submitted by the lead nominator who will complete a nomination summary. All nominations must be accompanied by exactly one letter of support, from an individual other than the lead nominator, submitted either attached to the nomination form or sent to QACS.GSPSRP@gmail.com, accompanied with the following subject line “Q-ACS 2026 GSPSRP Nomination”. 

 

For more information about these awards and the recognition process, please follow this link. Please note, (self)-nominations via the ACS portal are prohibited and must be submitted via Q-ACS on behalf of the successful nominee.
